Tonight’s Ice
Wednesday, March 5th, 2008Ya Gotta Love Ohio…
Monday, March 3rd, 2008After all the snow we’ve had the last week or so, we REALLY enjoyed a spectacular taste of spring today! We walked around Aurora Farms Outlet this morning–no great bargains or fun purchases–and then we washed cars this afternoon. Weird to have mounds of snow beside me while I splashed around in my Crocs and no coat. Pa did a little yard cleanup and I washed the salt residue off the front of the house. HOWEVER, this is not supposed to last. We’re supposed to get hit with lots of rain and freezing rain and sleet sometime this evening (for the native Californians in the family, imagine driving a car on an ice skating rink while ice-coated tree limbs and power lines are snapping all around), then we’ll be back to seasonable 30 degree temperatures again.
Sigh. But I guess that’s why I don’t REALLY mind Ohio winters. They’re interesting. No weather ever stays around too long. Just as you adjust to one set of weather conditions, it all changes. And I really, really appreciate any sign of spring–whether it’s an early-March one-day thaw or the hyacinth and daffodil shoots breaking ground!
Tomorrow is Ohio’s Primary Election! Woohoo! Go Obama!
