Wii!
Sunday, December 28th, 2008After defeating Grandma in tennis, Caleb bowled a 177 (beating Grandpa’s 89). It was great fun!
More Post-Holiday Do-ings
Sunday, December 28th, 2008The last couple days have been fun-filled.
Yesterday we went downtown to Chriskindl Mart and the ice skating rink. Grandpa, Mike and Caleb tried the ice skating — not for long, but no one fell and no one was hurt! Grandpa, Jen, Caleb and Owen rode the carousel. We saw toy makers from Germany at work and visited the marble museum. After we returned home, Caleb and Grandpa did some wood working in the basement — a bird house and a partially complete wooden snowman resulted — again, no one got hurt!
Today we visited the art museum to see Machines at Play. The grandchildren liked the building and were a little tentative about the exhibit. However, after the first viewing, Caleb asked to revisit the Machines at Play and suggested we go home for lunch and come back again with Aunt Jean and Uncle Bob, so they could see it. I think it was a success. Video here.
Below are some pictures.
Christmas Day
Friday, December 26th, 2008Christmas Eve
Thursday, December 25th, 2008We just returned home from the Christmas Eve get together at Lyn and Bob’s. It was great (as always). The children are getting older, and the gathering is getting quieter — especially noticeable when the children departed en masse to the basement. Everyone is well and thankful, I think, to have survived this year. Kevin is doing very well — 100% recovered. No visit from Santa this time. Here are some pictures.
Also, I came across this from several years ago . . .
Ah, Ohio…
Wednesday, December 24th, 2008After freezing our butts off a couple days ago, it’s currently raining, and we’re expecting 60+ degree weather by Saturday. I love Ohio. Ho, ho, ho!
Brrrrrr…
Monday, December 22nd, 2008The temperature is one degree, with a wind chill of minus 21. California, here we come!
A Caleb-ism
Wednesday, December 17th, 2008Caleb called tonight to report to Grandpa that while he and Jen were practicing “opposites”, she asked him the opposite of “has hair.” Caleb said “Grandpa!” We thought it was a hoot. Then I got to thinking. I’m glad she didn’t ask him the opposite of “skinny” and his reply, “Grandma”…
and now for something completely different . . .
Monday, December 15th, 2008I found Monty Python Online linked from the Monty Python Channel on Youtube. These are a couple of great sites to waste time while lifting your spirits.
