Sebastian’s Halloween message made us smile . . . over and over.   Thanks!

Mike and Jen returned from their brief vacation last night and this morning they packed up the boys and took off to Eastlake for holiday picnics and a visit with Grandma and Paca.   So our house emptied a short time ago and it didn’t take too long to straighten up the place after a wonderful visit with Caleb and Owen. Usually this is done with a tinge of sadness, but this time, we had to kick it  into high gear and the countdown begins!  Beds are stripped, I’m making a shopping list, and I’ll be making meatballs and cookies and wheatberry salad and seitan sausages and lotsa other stuff because Jeff, Anna Marie and Sebastian will be here in LESS THAN A WEEK!  Woohoo!  And, Sebastian, you’ll enjoy some of the toys that your dad used to play with which we’d hauled up from the basement–all ready and waiting for you in the patio room!  Hurry up, Friday!

Congratulations, Sebastian. Good job. We’re very proud of you.

I know, it’s pathetic that all we talk about lately is the weather. At least this time, we’re not complaining. After the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter, we’re getting a welcome reprieve — for a few days only, I’m sure.

Today we visited Vincent Lugo Park in San Gabriel.  It’s also referred to as “Monster Park” because of the concrete structures (slides, jungle gyms, etc.) built in the ’60s in the form of various land and sea creatures.  Sebastian had a great time (as did we watching him), and he’s ready to return already.  Fortunately, it’s an easy trip by bus, and he will return frequently, I’m sure.  That’s all for now.  Time to start saying “goodbye” . . . darn it!

Today was a stay at home day, which we enjoyed very much.  We played, and talked, and cooked, and ate together.  Here are a few pics.

Today we (Ma and Pa) had some play time on the roof with Sebastian. We watched him ride the scooter (see video here), played some hide and seek, and went on a bear hunt. Then we went with Jeff, Anna-Marie, and Sebastian to lunch in Little Tokyo and on to Griffith Park to see lots of steam locomotives at “Traveltown”. We wrapped up by driving by Jeff’s office to see it. It was another fun day. Here are a bunch of pictures –
