Yay, Caleb!

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

We really enjoyed watching Caleb’s game today.   Caleb had a couple shots reach the rim and did a great job on defense.   Good hustle!  Afterward we had a wonderful lunch at Lulu’s — Caleb’s choice.    Owen demonstrated his “tooth wiggle” — it’ll be coming out SOON!  The drive down was a little dicey due to the weather, but the return trip was much better.   In all, it was a very good day.   Thanks for having us, Mike, Jen, Caleb and Owen!

Elf (the movie)

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Caleb and Owen seemed to thoroughly enjoy watching Elf with us last evening.   I think the adults were enjoying it as well … at least this one was.   I think it might get added to our Christmas classics short list.

Aeros Game

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Caleb and Owen were great at the game. The weather was ideal and the Aeros won. What more could we ask? Well, we could ask that the King and His Court, a campy comedy act playing mock softball with local amateur players, not be inserted between the real ballgame and the fireworks — a 40 MINUTE long yawn! At 10:30 PM, we decided to head to the car and watch fireworks from the street. The sound was a bit much for Owen, but he recovered fully during the 10 minute drive home. Now we’re hoping they can sleep fast (tomorrow’s only about 20 minutes away). We all had a great time.

Nice Time at Owen’s Fourth Birthday Party

Monday, June 13th, 2011

Mike and Jen held Owen’s birthday party at Wingfoot Lake (now a state park). The rains ended just in time (1 day before), and, although it was cool, everyone seem to enjoy being outside and watching Owen, Caleb, and cousins Kate and Anna romp in the park and at the playgrounds.

Visit with Mike, Jenn, Caleb and Owen

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

We had a great, albeit brief, visit. Mike’s roast cow for dinner, “Despicable Me” with the grandsons, Kewpee burgers, Frontier (Lincoln-like) Logs, and Simon Says. We even learned about Harry S Truman, thanks to Caleb’s thorough research and excellent report writing. Thanks for having us, Mike and Jenn. You have so much to be thankful for and proud of in those boys.

Wingfoot Lake — Ohio’s Newest State Park

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Yesterday, during the baby shower for Stephanie, the guys (young and old) made a visit to the just-reopened Wingfoot Lake. We were all quite impressed and want to visit again soon. Mike thought the state had done a first class job — the playgrounds and shelters looked as good as we have ever seen them. Yea!
