Caleb’s John Deere Birthday Bash
Sunday, March 29th, 2009Caleb’s fifth birthday party at Grandma and Paca’s in Eastlake was fun, noisy, farm-y and unrecorded by Grandma and Grandpa Choochoo. No pictures of the green and yellow decor. No pictures of the birthday boy romping with his Kyerlieber cousins (Jen’s mom’s great niece and nephews). No video of Owen skipping. Nada. We forgot the damned camera. Which ordinarily isn’t too bad, since Stephanie, the Family Photographer Extraordinaire, could always be counted on to take adorable pictures of EVERYTHING and post them on her blog. Selfishly, she didn’t drop everything at her new house in VA and make the 6 hour drive to Ohio for the event. Where’s the love, Steph? We can only hope to snag some of the pics that Aunt Jean, Nate and Dan took and post them, or check for Jen’s pictures on their blog. And we promise to somehow make room in our befuddled old brains to remember the camera at future celebrations
THIS JUST IN: Nate came to the rescue with THESE GREAT PICS from the birthday party. Enjoy.

Saturday, February 21st, 2009Just thought I’d share these few video clips from our January visit. I know I enjoy watching them over and over.

It’s Over.
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009The snow machine dumped about 8-10 inches of snow in our neck of the woods–not as severe as we feared. Streets are barely cleared, but what’s new? The pile of snow at the end of the driveway is probably about 4 ft. tall, but Larry keeps the mailbox clear. At least we didn’t get the ice storm that some Ohioans got. Spring, you can make your appearance early this year–I won’t complain.

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009Forecasters predict 8-14 inches of snow in the next 24 hours. Swell.
My New Year’s Resolution
Friday, January 9th, 2009Prompted by popular demand, I resolve to stop correcting grammatical and spelling errors on the blogs of family and friends, no matter how egregious the transgression or when the misstep makes my eyes bleed and baby Jesus cry.
You’re welcome, everyone.
A Caleb-ism
Wednesday, December 17th, 2008Caleb called tonight to report to Grandpa that while he and Jen were practicing “opposites”, she asked him the opposite of “has hair.” Caleb said “Grandpa!” We thought it was a hoot. Then I got to thinking. I’m glad she didn’t ask him the opposite of “skinny” and his reply, “Grandma”…
and now for something completely different . . .
