Pizza for Dinner
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Nieces Visit
Saturday, June 26th, 2010Shelby and Brenna took time from their girls’ weekend to visit the Saracenos and us this evening. Their daughters, Bailey and Kayla, entertained everyone with a variety of activities — gardening, bird tending, bug watching, flirting (with Daniel), coloring and wrestling (all while being adorable). It was great to see everyone, to get updated on the Wisconsin clan, and to reminisce. A few pictures from the visit are below.
There But For the Grace of God…
Saturday, September 12th, 2009
We had just come home from a spur of the moment breakfast at Julian’s with Jean, Bob & Dan, opened the patio door to let Cali out — and were staggered by the strong odor of skunk.
Cali stayed inside.
Shortly after, Larry was mowing the lawn when the neighbor two doors down told us that his dog had just been sprayed by a skunk and his wife was on her way to the store for shampoo and tomato juice.
Cali’s not at the top of her game anymore, and PROBABLY wouldn’t have noticed an intruder in her yard, but still…it felt like a close call.

Monday, August 31st, 2009COSI
Friday, August 21st, 2009We went to COSI (Center of Science and Industry in Columbus) today with Mike, Caleb and Owen. It was a lot of fun for them and us. Ohio was threatened by thunderstorms, but we were spared all but some refreshing sprinkles during lunch and walking to the car for the ride home. I can’t begin to recount the exhibits, but here are a few photos.
“Culture”
Friday, August 14th, 2009Ma and I went to the Cleveland Museum of Art this afternoon to bask in some culture. We saw most impressive collections of art in beautiful galleries. One piece, however, really stuck in my mind. It was a Japanese scroll (ink on paper) from 1300. The subject was a humorous tale of a man with a talent — “musical flatulence”. Now, I can’t recall the story from memory, but there was something about his friends convincing him to consume a laxative . . . and something about him soiling himself during a subsequent performance [tee hee]. Anyway . . . I could imagine Sebastian and Caleb sharing such a tale as they walked along at Hocking Hills.
Oh, and in case you think I’m pulling your leg — SEE THE ITEM HERE .
My recollection was close, no?
